Share Savings Account

A share savings account is a safe and convenient way to save. The minimum balance to open an account and become a member/owner of our financial cooperative is $10.00. Dividends are earned (accrued) daily and paid to the account (compounded) monthly. You will begin earning dividends when your balance reaches just $30.00. The dividend rate and annual percentage yield may change every dividend period, as determined by the credit union board of directors.
Secondary share savings accounts can be opened to help you save for a special item or event, such as a vacation or wedding. Other types of share accounts, including custodial accounts and trust accounts, are also available.
General rules for share savings accounts: During any month you may not make more than six withdrawals or transfers to another credit union account of yours or to a third party by means of a preauthorized or automatic transfer, computer transfer, telephone transfer or similar order to a third party. If you exceed these transfer limitations, your account will be subject to closure by the credit union. A closure fee may be assessed to this account if closed within the first 90 days of opening. An account is considered dormant if for 12 months no withdrawals or deposits, other than credited dividends, have been made to the account. If the account balance is less than $50.00, a monthly dormant account fee may be assessed against the share savings account but not against accounts identified as belonging to a minor.
